I see this a lot on Shark Tank where Kevin O’Leary loves to buy 100% of a company and license the idea to the entrepreneur. Kevin sells it hard for the fact that the entrepreneur can sit back and collect royalties for every unit that sells.

I will still spend time editing them, so things will never be passive online. But, I enjoy the effort spent online so all is good for now.

September 24, 2013 at 10:40 pm Creating an eCommerce store is simple. The Very Best of SPI Why did P2P lending get a liquidity ranking of 6? It is quite possibly the most illiquid investment option you listed. You said you rank liquidity by “difficulty level of withdrawing your money without a massive penalty”, and for Lending Club notes, it’s not only difficult and extremely time consuming to sell all of your notes in their super illiquid market, but you would have to sell your notes at large losses to hope to get others interested in buying your notes. On top of that, it is impossible to withdraw your money any other way other than just waiting for interest/principal to pay off every month until maturity in 3 to 5 years. You can’t just one day tell Lending Club “I want to quit, please give me my money back.” One can even argue that it is less difficult to sell a home (in order to “withdraw” the money invested) than to withdraw all of their money from a P2P loan portfolio because it is very possible to sell a home before 3 to 5 years.

What is the best investment for income? You did mention one that I particularly liked, drop shipping. I have done reviews on a handful of companies that are in this type of business and your mention of Shopify especially. Through my own prior research, I believe that Shopify is one perhaps the most ethical and legit online companies that are dedicated to drop shipping. I just might dip my toes into trying to build some passive income for myself through another stream in addition to WA by taking a closer look myself at Shopify.

REVIEWS Media Online Marketing I already have a property manager (I couldn’t do it without help since I travel all the time for my real job). My properties are all at the very bottom of the market. Almost all are 2 bed/1 ba and rent for around $500/mo. I have a really hard time finding decent tenants. My properties are not in bad shape, in fact I fixed them up pretty nice.
Helpful Email Address Email address required I’ve quit my $16 dollar an hour job after 15 months to be able to work from home at 24 years old, a 2 year old with another on the way. Due to following one of my mentors, telling me that work does not have to be a hassle to my lifestyle. He has given me a great method to be able to work from home to generate more than my bi-weekly paycheck. Which was around $800 dollars a week. Not bad I know, but the actual work was very harsh to any human being ha. He also told me it would only cost my time and effort, only about 3–4 hours a day. So every since I made my transition my life has become a breeze with much less stress physically and financially.
Whether you take a “distribution” (aka free-cash-flow) in the form of a dividend, interest payment, capital gain, maturing ladder of a CD, etc, you are still taking the same amount of cash out of your portfolio. Don’t fall for the trap of sub optimizing your overall portfolio’s performance because your chasing some unimportant trait called “income”.

447,906 Case Schiller only tracks price appreciation of RE. RE as rental investment vehicle is measured primarily on rental yield or cap rate or some other measure. Price appreciation in that scenario is only a secondary means of growth, and arguably should be ignored as a predictor of returns when deciding on whether or not to invest in rentals. More important key performance indicators for rentals are net operating income and cash ROI. Appreciation, if it occurs, is a bonus.

Whether you choose to invest in just one of these modern REITs or both, keep in mind that since they’re private funds and not stocks, you won’t be able to easily liquidate your investment and access your cash right away. Depending on your investment, plan to see your money tied up for anywhere from six months to five years. However, you’ll most likely still receive monthly or quarterly payments, depending on which investment opportunity you select.
